As part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Coordinadora de las Industrias de Productos Alimenticios (COPAL), Argentina Alimenta 2026 was officially presented. This new international trade fair will take place from November 17–19, 2026, at La Rural, Buenos Aires Exhibition Center.
The anniversary event was held at La Rural and brought together national and provincial authorities, business leaders, and representatives of the food industry. During the event, La Rural S.A., COPAL, Fira Barcelona – Alimentaria, and the Argentine Agency for Investment and International Trade Promotion announced this initiative, which aims to become the leading business platform and global projection space for the sector.
A Trade Fair to Strengthen Argentina’s Food Industry
Argentina Alimenta 2026 will bring together more than 300 exhibitors, international buyers, supermarket representatives, producers, exporters, importers, and other key stakeholders within the food industry ecosystem.
Over three days, the exhibition will offer spaces dedicated to technological innovation, professional training, and business development. It will also include conferences and workshops featuring industry leaders, competitions and awards for innovative projects, sensory experiences, and culinary demonstrations by renowned chefs across more than 10,000 m² of exhibition space.
The trade fair will also feature a major International Business Round, connecting local companies with global buyers, strengthening competitiveness and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.
“More Than an Exhibition, a Strategic Meeting Point”
During the presentation, Carlos Solanet, Commercial Director of La Rural S.A., highlighted:
“Argentina Alimenta will be much more than an exhibition. It will be a strategic meeting point to generate business opportunities and position Argentina as a key player in global trade of value-added food products.”
A Launch Supported by Institutions
The COPAL anniversary event was chosen as the ideal setting to announce Argentina Alimenta. Among the more than 200 attendees were Minister of Foreign Affairs Gerardo Werthein; Secretary of Production Coordination Pablo Lavigne; provincial production ministers; business leaders; academics; and representatives from multilateral organizations, who highlighted the importance of the event in strengthening the international positioning of Argentina’s food industry.
With this initiative, La Rural reaffirms its commitment as an organizer of high-impact events, supporting some of the most dynamic productive sectors of the national economy.
