As part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Coordinadora de las Industrias de Productos Alimenticios (COPAL), Argentina Alimenta 2026 was presented, the new international trade fair that will take place from November 17 to 19, 2026, at La Rural, Predio Ferial de Bs.As.
The anniversary event took place at La Rural and brought together national and provincial authorities, business leaders, and key figures from the food industry. Against this backdrop, La Rural S.A., COPAL, FIRA Barcelona-Alimentaria, and the Argentine Investment and International Trade Agency announced this proposal, which seeks to establish itself as the sector's major business platform and global showcase.
A trade fair to promote the Argentine food industry
Argentina Alimenta 2026 will bring together more than 300 exhibitors, international buyers, supermarkets, producers, exporters, importers, and other key players in the food ecosystem.
Over three days, the exhibition will offer spaces for technological innovation, professional training, and business generation. It will also include conferences and workshops with industry leaders, competitions and awards for innovative projects, sensory experiences, and culinary demonstrations with renowned chefs in more than 10,000 m2 of exhibition space.
The fair will also feature a large International Business Roundtable that will connect local companies with global buyers, strengthening competitiveness and public-private coordination.
“More than an exhibition, a strategic meeting point”
During the presentation, Carlos Solanet, commercial director of La Rural S.A., highlighted: "Argentina Alimenta will be much more than an exhibition. It will be a strategic meeting point to generate business opportunities and project the country as a key player in the global trade of value-added foods."
A launch with institutional support
The COPAL meeting was the ideal venue to announce Argentina Alimenta. Among the more than 200 attendees were Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein; Secretary of Production Coordination Pablo Lavigne; provincial ministers of production; business leaders; academics; and representatives of multilateral organizations, all of whom highlighted the importance of the event for the international positioning of the Argentine food industry.
